City of Sidney – Local Business Incentives

The Sidney-Shelby Economic Partnership works closely with the City of Sidney and our JobsOhio partners to customize a competitive incentive package to move your project to successful completion. Below is a list of industrial project incentives that are often considered:

Enterprise Zone

  • Provides real property tax incentives for businesses that expand or locate in Ohio.
  • To secure tax incentives for qualified new real and/or personal property investment, non-retail business must apply to the local community prior to making the investment.

Municipal Job Creation Tax Credit

  • Provides credit against Sidney corporate income tax based on Sidney income tax withheld from new jobs created.

 

Sidney Business High Volume Water Use Rebate Program

  • Existing businesses who use water in excess of 100,000 ccf annually may be eligible for a rebate on expanded water usage for a period of up to 8 years.
  • New businesses may be eligible to receive rebates after an initial 12 months of operation.  The new business rebate applies to usage in excess of 100,000 ccf annually for a period of 4 years.
  • Businesses must apply to the City Manager, execute a rebate program contract and maintain agreed upon water usage to receive water use rebates.

Community Reinvestment Act

  • Provides local real property tax incentives for residents and businesses.
  • Real property investors meeting the local criteria thresholds must apply to the municipality or county for the real property tax exemption.

  • Provides gap financing for local business development.
